Walking the dog





At least you don’t have to walk the dog she said

I’d love to walk the dog
To see her run in circles of joy
Leaving her signature in the sand
I’d love to walk beside her 
splashing in the shallows,
chasing the seagulls and crows
who dance away- momentarily
only to return , laughing.
I’d love to throw her ball
Again and again
I’d love to walk the dog
